Our History

NIGERCHIN was incorporated in 1970 as the pioneer manufacturer of electric cables and conductors in Nigeria.

A partnership with Canada Wire and Cable International (CWI), then, a Canadian company with over 75 years experience in cable designed, engineering and manufacture, gave Nigerchin relevant technology, experience and facilities for product and manpower development.

Over time, Nigerchin has built on this foundation, competency for upgrading, producing and certifying quality products that meet international requirements in the electrical power industry and installations.

PRODUCTS

The products are essentially electric cable and conductors of aluminium and copper made specifically to British Standard (BS) International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and Nigeria Industrial Standard (NIS).  We have, too engineering capability and facilities to manufacture products to other International Standards and to customers’ own specifications.  The range of  insulated bare copper electric power, control, lighting and earthing cables fall in the voltage category of:

  • 300/500V
  • 450/750V
  • 600/1000V
  • 1900/3300V

These products are offered as copper and aluminium from 1.0sqmm up to 1000sqmm for single core and 1.0sqmm up to 300sqmm for multicore XLPE or PVC insulated, steel wire/tape armoured or non-armoured with add-on properties like

  • Mud Resistant
  • Anti-Termite Resistant

We also produce extensive range of bare overhead conductors for power distribution and transmission of Low-Voltage and High-Voltage power network.
